Overview
Connect2Cart integrates directly with UPS using UPS’s secure authorization process. Once connected, UPS shipping services will be available when rating and shipping orders.
The setup process only takes a few minutes and only needs to be completed once.
Before You Begin
Before configuring UPS, make sure:
- Your Connect2Cart account has been created.
- You have an active UPS account.
- You know your UPS Shipping Account Number.
- You have your UPS login credentials available.
Step 1: Open Shipping Channels
- Log in to Connect2Cart.
- Navigate to:Channels → Shipping Channels
- Click Add Channel.
- Select UPS.
Step 2: Enter Your UPS Information
Complete the following fields.
Display Name
Enter a descriptive name for the channel.
Example:
My UPS
This name is used only within Connect2Cart to help identify the shipping channel.
Shipping Account Number
Enter your UPS Shipping Account Number.
UPS SurePost
If your UPS account uses UPS SurePost, enable the Do you use UPS SurePost? checkbox.
If you do not use SurePost, leave this option unchecked.
Step 3: Save the Channel
Click Save.
The UPS channel will be created and you’ll be prompted to authorize Connect2Cart with UPS.
Step 4: Authorize Connect2Cart
Click Authorize Connect2Cart.
A UPS login page will open.
Step 5: Sign In to UPS
- Enter your UPS username or email address.
- Accept the UPS authorization agreement if prompted.
- Click Continue.
- Enter your password when requested.
- Complete any additional security verification required by UPS.
After signing in, UPS will ask you to authorize Connect2Cart to access your UPS account.
Approve the authorization request.
Step 6: Complete the Authorization
After authorization is complete, you’ll automatically return to Connect2Cart.
A confirmation message will appear indicating:
Channel authenticated successfully.
Click OK to finish.
Your UPS shipping channel is now ready to use.
What Happens Next?
Once the UPS channel has been configured:
- UPS shipping services will be available during rate shopping.
- You can purchase UPS shipping labels directly from Connect2Cart.
- Tracking numbers will automatically be returned after labels are created.
- No additional configuration is required.
Troubleshooting
Unable to Authorize UPS
Verify that:
- You entered the correct UPS Shipping Account Number.
- You signed in using the UPS account associated with that shipping account.
- You completed the authorization process before closing the browser window.
If authorization was interrupted, return to the UPS shipping channel and click Authorize Connect2Cart again.
Authorization Failed
If UPS displays an authentication error:
- Verify your UPS username and password.
- Complete any required multi-factor authentication.
- Ensure your UPS account is active and associated with the shipping account entered in Connect2Cart.
Authorization Completed but Channel Is Not Connected
If you successfully authorized Connect2Cart but the channel does not show as connected:
- Refresh the Shipping Channels page.
- Verify the channel status.
- If necessary, repeat the authorization process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an API key from UPS?
No. Connect2Cart uses UPS’s secure authorization process. No API keys or developer account are required.
What is my Shipping Account Number?
Your Shipping Account Number is the UPS account that postage and shipping charges are billed to.
Do I need to authorize Connect2Cart again later?
Normally, no. If the authorization is revoked or expires, Connect2Cart will prompt you to reconnect your UPS account.
Can I connect multiple UPS accounts?
Yes. Create a separate UPS shipping channel for each UPS Shipping Account Number.
