Connecting Your Miva Store

Overview

Connect2Cart integrates directly with Miva using the Miva JSON API. Once connected, Connect2Cart will automatically begin importing new orders from your Miva store and will keep shipment tracking and fulfillment status synchronized.

The setup process only takes a few minutes and only needs to be completed once.

Before You Begin

Before connecting Miva, make sure:

  • You have administrator access to your Miva store.
  • Your Connect2Cart account has already been created.
  • Your store is running Miva 9.12 or later with the JSON API enabled.
  • Your store is accessible via HTTPS.

Step 1: Create an API Token

  1. Log in to your Miva Admin.
  2. Navigate to:Settings → User Management → API Tokens
  3. Click Add API Token.

Step 2: Configure the API Token

Complete the following fields:

Name

Example:

Connect2Cart

Allowed IP Address(es)

0.0.0.0/0

If your organization restricts API access by IP address, configure the appropriate allow list instead.

Click Generate to create:

  • Access Token
  • Signature

Leave the Endpoint URL at its default value.

Enable Timestamp Validation and configure the validation window according to your organization’s security requirements.

Click Save.

Step 3: Assign API Permissions

Select the API Token you just created.

Open Groups and enable the following permissions:

  • Customer Service & Sales
  • Order Processing & Fulfillment
  • Product Management

Save your changes.

Step 4: Locate Your API Information

You’ll need the following values from the API Token:

  • API Endpoint
  • Access Token
  • Signature

You’ll also need:

  • Miva Store Code

If your organization uses Order Queues, you may also want to record the Queue Code.

Step 5: Connect Miva to Connect2Cart

In Connect2Cart:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Incoming Channels.
  2. Click Add Channel.
  3. Select Miva.
  4. Enter:
    • API Endpoint
    • Access Token
    • Signature
    • Store Code
  5. Click Connect.

Connect2Cart will validate your credentials and establish the connection.

What Happens Next?

Once the connection is successful:

  • New Miva orders will begin importing automatically within a few moments.
  • Shipment tracking numbers and fulfillment status will automatically be sent back to Miva whenever orders are shipped through Connect2Cart.
  • No additional configuration is required for order imports or shipment updates.

Troubleshooting

Unable to Connect

Verify that:

  • The API Endpoint is correct.
  • The Access Token was copied correctly.
  • The Signature was copied correctly.
  • The API Token has the required permission groups.
  • The JSON API is enabled on your Miva store.

Orders Are Not Importing

If the connection was recently created, allow a few minutes for the initial synchronization to begin.

If orders still do not appear:

  • Verify the Miva channel shows Connected.
  • Confirm the API Token is active.
  • Verify the required permission groups are assigned to the API Token.

Authentication Errors

Authentication failures are commonly caused by:

  • An incorrect Access Token.
  • An incorrect Signature.
  • Timestamp validation settings that do not match your server configuration.
  • IP address restrictions blocking API access.

If necessary, generate a new API Token and update the credentials in Connect2Cart.
